Joe's Big Day

Today, we attended "Hari Anugerah Cemerlang" at Joe's school. He's receiving an award for being No. 2 in class for the previous year. Why are kids getting last year's recognition? I don't know why but I guess because due to the school's last minute management.

the itinery:

spot Joe's name:
Anyway, Joe was truly excited. Can't wait for his big day. Can't wait to be called up to the stage to receive his award and certificate.

segak betul.....

A lot of parents came and the hall was pretty congested. There were not enough chairs but thankfully we arrived a wee bit earlier and also it was only 2 of us. Some came with carload!

words to remind all of us:

So... the ceremony started with the headmistress' speech, Pn. Saminyah which was okay as her 'anak-anak' (that's what she calls SKTS students) was very diciplined; listening to every word she said.

Then... came the head of PIBG. Whoa the fish market audio started and suddenly kids were chatting away. Older ones were playing UNO at the back and parents were yapping away. WOW!

After the boring speech which mostly contained about him and what he does, students put on a malay dance.
Then, the prize giving ceremony started. Receivers were asked to line up by the pillars. It started from children with special needs to Year 1, etc.

Oooo.. below is one of Joe's girlfriend, Yong Sum Ee:

5 minutes later, it was Joe's turn to brighten up the stage; which he DID!
(pssst~ he actually tripped at the stairs before going up the stage; luckily, he managed to gain his composure and zoomed up the stage to the amazement of the crowd.. it happened so fast that no one had the chance to 'OH' about it)

Lastly, a closed up picture of Joe with his award and certificate on his big day!

(p/s: We brought the camera but forgot bout its life but Dad saved the morning. He F4-ed and delivered the battery to us. If weren't for your help, we won't have these pictures. Thanks!)

Poetry for Lappie

Lappie went into comatose yesterday
I don't know what happened, it turned gray
Hub is trying to fix it since last night till today
Temporary using Hub's XPS which is okay

My lappie brand is NEC
So as you can see,
It's Now Entering Comatose voluntarily

NEC gets heated up so easily
I could fry an egg but that would be silly
After 30 minutes it gets pretty heaty
I'm afraid it might BOOM oh dear me

If my lappie can't be fix,
I can't blog, check mail nor mix,
And everything will be done at half past six
Oh what a jinx

So sad if it's all gone
The kids' pictures and videos that I fond
Just wait and see nothing to be done
Wish I had other gadgets just like Bond

Using Hub's lappie is different
Though mine is tortoise; his is torrent
While mine is great; his is excellent
Still I'm used to what's current

Hopefully lappie recovers and be well
So, there will be more show and tell
I'm not saying it ain't good this DELL
It's just that familiarity I equally dwell

Plan B is, gone is the old, comes the new
Can't afford new, what to do...
Ponder and sigh with my many 'PHEWS'
Thinking hard, need a loan perhaps from YOU?

Javier's Kind of Yummy

At last I got a video to show you all Javier's version kind of 'YUMMY'. He does it naturally every now and then especially when he sees something that is yummy. He looks so cute doing it and I just enjoy watching him even though he pulls a crowd every time he does it in public.

Sean Kam Serenades

Uncle Yan@Sean (i gave him that name; i don't know why i chose that particular name) came yesterday to bring us out for breakfast. As he is the AV King in the family, we asked him to try out the karaoke system that Mom and I got a week ago. So, when he was serenading us, I managed to capture a video of him without his knowledge. After seeing it being post here, I'm sure he'll go !@#$%^&*.... wahaha!

Barbercued

Below are 3 videos that I wanna share during our trip to the barber which highlighted Javier's moments.

  • First video - before his turn on the barber chair...

  • Second video - during haircut session....

  • Third video - after the haircut, he gets his reward...

Finally Some Thunder

We finally had some thunder. I've been waiting for the sound of the thunder and the whistling of the wind. It was raining like cats and dogs and it has been quite long since we heard the last thunder that happened last year. Hmm did I get that correct?

The kids as usual haven't heard thunder for quite some time were freaking out except for Judith. Javier hid under the blanket while Joe went hopping around with his high-pitch sirens.

Freaking windy as you can see the plant outside the balcony is having a roller coaster ride!

Whoa the trees are swaying their branches off

So dark outside.. it was about 4.30pm but looked like 8pm

Javier hiding underneath the blanket

The field is flooding

Just 20 minutes later, the sky cleared....

And little Javier has come out of his hiding with smiles!!!

I read the newspaper today. There was an article about the storm which damaged a few apartments in Taman Segar, Cheras. Roof tiles flew off and landed on some cars nearby but luckily no one was hurt. This morning, on our way to the market; Mom was driving and she nearly banged into a fallen tree branch which was still hanging from its bark. PHEW~

Be Us on Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day... Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!! Hubby and ME don't really celebrate VDAY on VDAY, well not necessarily because we think VDAYS aren't important anymore. It's more like a gimmick nowadays where certain parties using this special day to fetch extra money. Any day could be VDAY. It would be more significant to choose a date and celebrate with your special one than dining in a fully booked diner with the crowds chatting away and watching tables of lovers canoodling each other. It's weird to look to the left and see a couple; then to your right another couple; so as front and back! It'll be more like a food convention for couples; gone are the romantic moments~

Today and every other year on this very same date, we bring the kids out for dinner. We love celebrating VDAY with the kids. We had dinner at RESTAURANT GAFAN, a famous claypot rice shop along Connaught Highway.

Lotus Root Soup with chicken leg, peanuts and dried cuttlefish
(Judith's favourite)

Toufu

Chicken Claypot Rice with Salted Fish

Fish Claypot Rice

Vegetable in Oil

Jake mixing it all up while Judith ponder what's baldness like...

Javier crazy about the toufu, that we had to order a second plate for him

Yesterday, Hub surprised ME by telling ME we were going for dinner at SAN FRANCISCO STEAKHOUSE at MidValley to celebrate my birthday. We often patronize there because of its service and quality of food. There were couples celebrating VDAY yesterday because today was fully booked. Thank goodness we went there early and left before tens of two by two's came in.

We both ordered 'Black Angus Regular Cut' which was wickedly tender and juicy. Hub had his in medium rare and mine medium. Bloodied which I adore!

See? I do eat veges!

We didn't take much photos. Hub took photos from his hp camera. I left my camera at home while Hub forgot to bring his. Anyway, we didn't want any excess baggage either as we too, wanna enjoy each other's company without fussing with buttons and flashes.
